A successful year two meeting for the SAR Expedition

December 11, 2013

The year two annual meeting for the NSF Expedition in Computing on Socially Assistive Robotics was held on December 5th and 6th, 2013 at the Greenberg Conference Center on the Yale campus. There were approximately 50 attendees, including students, faculty, partners and PIs from Yale, USC and MIT, as well as NSF Program Managers Ephraim Glinert and Mitra Basu.

Day one was dedicated to an overview of the Expedition efforts to date, plan reviews, and an opportunity for a closed-door panel with the Expedition students and NSF Program Managers. Day two focused on logistics and infrastructure. Overall, feedback from the meeting has resulted in a renewed focus on infrastructure and communication across the Expedition sites and continued enthusiasm for the year three activities.
