Robot demo for Bethany GEMS Club

February 21, 2014

Lab members Henny Admoni, Corina Grigore, Aditi Ramachandran, and Iolanda Leite are making a special trip today to Bethany Community School (Bethany, CT) to demonstrate several of the lab’s robots to the GEMS Club. GEMS stands for Girls Excelling in Math and Science. The Bethany GEMS chapter is in its third year of hosting an after-school science club for 4th-6th grade girls. Its mission is to expose girls ages 9-12 to as wide a variety of women in STEM fields as possible, educate them about opportunities for women in these fields, excite them about these areas of study and encourage them to continue to explore and excel in these areas as they advance into middle school.

Henny, Corina, Aditi, and Iolanda are excellent STEM role models. They hope to inspire the GEMS students by sharing their stories, their research and offering a hands-on demonstration with our Dragonbot, MyKeepon, and Create robots. To learn more about GEMS, visit: www.gemsclub.org.
