André Pereira, Ph.D.

André Pereira is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Yale Social Robotics Lab under the direction of Prof. Brian Scassellati. He is working on the NSF Expedition in Socially Assistive Robotics. André received his PhD in April 2014 from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, Portugal. In his PhD, he investigated socially present robots for multi-party scenarios.

His research interests lie in areas such as human-robot interaction, artificial intelligence, socially intelligent agents and digital games. André is currently focused on the development of social robots that motivate and promote healthier lifestyles in people.
