Humans have a limited amount of time and attention that they must distribute among their goals. Working in teams with other humans increases both the time available, and the attention available for the same goals. Alex is interested in creating robots that work with humans in the same way. He is interested in creating robots that magnify one’s time by performing the tasks that one doesn’t have time to complete, as well as robots that magnify one’s attention by learning about the person and the person’s goals and then giving intelligent advice on relevant decisions.
Personal
Alex grew up in Toronto, Canada, where he received a BASc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto. He enjoys playing soccer, swimming, biking, and doing photography.
